INTERVIEW WITH THE 012'S FINEST

Loatile Managadi wa born in Ga-Rankuwa and raised in Mabopane, Pretoria in 1999.Both his parents were educators “so he says they were semi strict”, he was never a kid who was always in trouble he enjoyed working on his computer. He would spend most of his time making beats or designs, he was never really a social person.

Loatinover Pounds started producing his own music while he was still in primary school, “around grade 5 or 6”he was never aware he was producing because to him it was like any other game. Now he is a respected rapper an producer in the game with notable features from Areece , Jay Jody ,Kaydence , IMP THA DON, IcemanBeatz and Ghost.

His favorite performance of his  musical journey thus far is the first time he performed his single ‘Beke Le Beke’.He remembers that the song was not even complete when he performed it, and yet he performed the chorus and the crowd went crazy. As he was about to get off stage, they kept chanting the song and asked him to perform it again. He ended up performing it for a longer time unlike he expected and that is when he knew that the song was going to be a hit. He does mentions that he has stage anxiety ,especially in an unfamiliar venue or crowd .

He gets through it by praying before ascending the stage. He admits that he has made mistakes while performing live but he works through that human error by improvising. Loatinover Pounds does not have a specific writting process. He usually just goes to the studio to make beats. When he realizes that the beat  is something he likes, he ensures that he writes something, and records himself.

He then mixes and masters song before designing the artwork, and then he plans a release of the work “I had the sosh plata song for three months without the second verse, he always wanted 25k on the song but he was not big enough at the time The sosh plata remix was a defining moment for Loatinover Pounds it catapulted him into the mainstream, the audiou is currently sitting on 661K views on youtube . Loationover pounds has turned the word Punyete into a brand that consist of merch, Record label that he signed himself under and an event series called Punyete Picnic which he host annually in and around PTA.
