ON THE RADAR WITH THE 012'S FINNEST

Remyn Seventeen is a rising South African musician and songwriter, who is making waves with his latest release "Birds of the same feather". The song, which is registered under an independent label, explores the concept of people flocking together, and the impact of relationships and loyalty on one another.

Remyn's inspiration for this song stems from his personal experiences, where he encountered situations and people who he had to leave behind as he embarked on a new journey in his life. The song is infused with afro, hip-hop, and alternative elements, creating a smooth and distinctive sound that sets Remyn apart from other musicians in the industry.

Born on November 17th, 1999, in the small town of Temba, Manyeleti, Pretoria, Remyn started his musical journey at a young age. He began singing in choirs when he was in grade 5 and continued through to grade 12, where he accumulated numerous trophies and medals for his exceptional vocal talents. In 2014, he started writing his own song.

What is your creative process like? Can you walk me through how you come up with ideas and bring them to life?

My creative process I usually get beats from my producer and other different producers as soon as I catch a vibe I write songs after writing 5 or 6 song I book a studio session.

How do you approach challenges or obstacles in your work, and what strategies do you use to overcome them?

I have few people around me who help overcome obstacles and sometimes I don't see them as challenges, I see them as an eye opener because after I know what to do better.

What themes or concepts do you explore in your art, and why are they important to you?

I love talking about my experience, love and manifestation in my songs because I feel comfortable and confident in that spaceUsually I watch interviews or listen to different music to understand different perspectives of music or I would try to go back to my childhood memory so that I can spark ideas.

How do you stay motivated and inspired as an artist, and what do you do to overcome creative blocks or burnout?

My first E.P and Second E.P are both time capsules because I dropped them in a time where I was going through a lot as an artist trying to figure my unique sound and learning a lot at the same time. Those projects mean a lot to me because they healed me and Gave me a direction in life.

Can you tell me about a project or piece of work that you're particularly proud of, and what makes it meaningful to you?

My music and sound is already evolving in the hip hop side. I want to extend my reach by doing Afrobeat sound and pop sounds. With that being said i aim to be a global superstars, performer and entertainer.
